Referee from Russia stated that he would gladly go to fight, as he watches all political programs.


Former referee Igor Zakharov stated that he would go to fight for Russia. He said that he enjoys watching political programs and has no relation to Ukraine. Zakharov officiated matches in the Russian Premier League since 2003 and was recognized as the best football referee in Russia in 2008. However, in 2009, he ended his career due to back problems.
Renowned figure skaters Ivan Bukin and Alexandra Stepanova, who wish to participate in the Olympics, support the sanctioned propagandist singer Shamana. Bukin is subscribed to Shamana's Instagram page, while Stepanova commented on one of his posts. Shamana is included in the sanction lists of Ukraine, Canada, and the EU due to his support for Russian aggression.
Ivan Bukin and Alexandra Stepanova are champions and medalists in various competitions, including European Championships and Russian events. Their desire to participate in the Olympics is supported by the International Olympic Committee, which hopes that neutral athletes will be able to participate in the qualifiers for the next season.
The 2026 Olympic Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
