Blackouts led to mass returns of dairy products: reason named.

Ukraine is facing an energy crisis that is severely affecting the dairy industry, causing an increase in product returns and financial losses for producers.
LIGA.net reports that the executive director of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine (UDU) Arsen Didur stated that in July the number of dairy product returns to factories increased by 20-30% due to prolonged power outages. This led to the violation of temperature conditions during the transportation and storage of products.
Didur noted that retail chains are shifting the financial burden caused by energy problems onto dairy enterprises, especially those associated with Fozzy Group owned by Vladimir Kostelman and Roman Chigir. This company owns Fozzy hypermarkets, 'Silpo', 'Fora' and Trash chains.
Fortunately, the chairman of the board of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, believes that the worst period of outages in the summer has already passed. He predicts an improvement in the situation over the next few weeks in the absence of new serious damage to power plants.
It is worth noting that in the second half of July 2024, an increase in purchase prices for milk has been observed in Ukraine.
