Dollar at 50 hryvnias: Ukrainians astonished by the forecast.


The International Monetary Fund predicts that by 2028, the dollar will cost 50 hryvnias in Ukraine.
This information came from the World Economic Outlook of October 2024.
The IMF has refined its forecasts for the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate up to 2029. According to the latest data, the American currency will reach the mark of 50 hryvnias only in 2028.
Overall, according to the calculations of the International Monetary Fund, the average annual exchange rate of the dollar will be as follows:
- 2024 - 41.0 hryvnias per dollar (April forecast - 41.0 hryvnias per dollar)
- 2025 - 45.0 hryvnias per dollar (April forecast - 45.8 hryvnias per dollar)
- 2026 - 46.8 hryvnias per dollar (April forecast - 48.6 hryvnias per dollar)
- 2027 - 48.6 hryvnias per dollar (April forecast - 50.4 hryvnias per dollar)
- 2028 - 50.2 hryvnias per dollar (April forecast - 52.1 hryvnias per dollar)
- 2029 - 51.7 hryvnias per dollar (April forecast - 54.1 hryvnias per dollar).
It is important to note that the IMF's calculations align with the forecasts of the Ukrainian government. The government has considered an average rate of 45.0 hryvnias per dollar in the budget for 2025.
In the following years, a slight weakening of the national currency to 46.5 hryvnias per dollar is expected in 2026. Interestingly, in 2027, a slight strengthening of the hryvnia to 46.4 hryvnias per dollar is anticipated.
A forecast was previously made regarding the rise in currency value at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
