Ukraine prepares to introduce new fines for transport noise
A group of deputies from the 'Servant of the People' faction has submitted draft law No. 9564, which envisages imposing large fines on drivers who exceed permissible noise levels.
According to the explanatory note to the draft law, some drivers modify the exhaust systems of their vehicles to make them louder. This harms citizens and can cause alarm due to the perception of loud noises as sounds from enemy drones.
The current laws do not establish clear rules in this situation, creating significant risks. Therefore, the introduction of large fines aims to make drivers attentive and not exceed the permissible noise level.
If the draft law is approved, the fine for exceeding the noise level will be 17,000 hryvnias, and for repeated violations - 34,000 hryvnias, with a possible suspension of driving rights for 3-6 months.
