Russia attacked Ukraine with a new ballistic missile 'Kedr'
On November 21, 2024, Russian invaders launched an attack on Ukraine using a new ballistic missile from the 'Kedr' system. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the missile traveled from the Astrakhan region to Dnipro in 15 minutes. This new weapon has six warheads, each containing six submunitions. At the final section of its trajectory, the missile reached speeds exceeding 11 Mach.
According to intelligence, six Russian military-industrial enterprises were involved in the development of the 'Kedr' system, including the Moscow Heat Engineering Institute, the Volgograd Center 'Titan-Barriers', and other institutions from Moscow and Voronezh.
Testing of the missile system was conducted at the Kapustin Yar range (Astrakhan region) twice - in October 2023 and June 2024.
