The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports new attempts by the Russian leadership to broaden the list of countries participating in the aggression against Ukraine. Amid critical losses of personnel and the exhaustion of internal resources, the Kremlin is actively seeking alternative sources to replenish its military forces. In addition to the already documented mass recruitment of mercenaries from African and Asian countries, as well as the deployment of units from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Russian military-political leadership is developing schemes to involve so-called partner states in hostilities under the guise of humanitarian initiatives in the territories of Russian regions bordering Ukraine.
Integration of Laos into Russian military operations
According to intelligence data received, the latest attempt at integrating into military operations concerns Laos. Moscow is organizing the process of involving a combined engineering troops unit of the People's Army of Laos to carry out demining work in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Given Laos' significant economic dependence on external funding sources, the leadership of this country is showing a willingness to cooperate with the Russian side. At the initial stage, the Lao leadership agrees to send a contingent of up to 50 sappers to Russia to participate in demining operations in the Kursk region. Additionally, Laos is providing free assistance to the Russian Federation through the organization of rehabilitation measures for wounded Russian servicemen who were directly involved in combat operations on the Ukrainian front. The Main Intelligence Directorate emphasizes that Russia is using humanitarian rhetoric as a cover to legitimize the presence of foreign military contingents on its territory, essentially exploiting them to ensure the continuation of combat operations against Ukraine. The Ukrainian intelligence agency continues to document and record facts of international complicity in the armed aggression against the Ukrainian state. In light of the wellbore conflict, the Sudanese side is trying to remain neutral, as traditionally Ukraine has been a strategic partner of this country and has provided assistance in the reform of military structures.Read also
