Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. In the match for third place, she defeated South Korean representative Sebin Choi.
This victory became the first for Ukraine at the Paris Olympics.
Kharlan initially trailed with a score of 5:11 but managed to take the initiative and secure victory with a score of 15:14.
This is Kharlan's fifth Olympic medal. Previously, she became an Olympic champion in 2008, a silver medalist in 2016 in team competitions, and a bronze medalist in 2012, 2016, and 2024 in individual competitions. She is also an eight-Time European champion and a six-time world champion.
In the quarterfinals, Kharlan defeated Hungarian fencer Anna Marton.
