The Korean Federation lifted the ban on figure skaters accused of harassment against a minor.

In South Korea, the suspension of two figure skaters in a harassment case has been lifted. The Korea Skating Union stated that it has removed restrictions on Hae-In Lee and Yoo Eun, allowing them to return to competitions. In June 2024, it became public that the skaters were excluded from the national team due to alcohol consumption and harassment.

During the May training camp of the Korean team in Italy, 'Skater A' and 'Skater B' consumed alcoholic beverages together, and then 'Skater A', in a state of intoxication, sexually harassed 'Skater C', while 'Skater B', being in the same room, photographed what was happening.

Later, an investigation led to the disqualification of 'Skater A' for 3 years, 'Skater B' for 1 year, and a warning to 'Skater C'. The decision regarding the case sparked discussions in the figure skating fan community and the identification of the participants.

Initially, the Korea Skating Union kept the identities confidential, but later fans identified the 'skaters' and 'skater' based on costumes shown in a television report.

Lawyers for both sides filed successful appeals, and the sanctions were lifted. Now Hae-In Lee and Yoo Eun can continue their sports careers. Hae-In Lee is the silver medalist of the 2023 World Championship, and Yoo Eun is the champion of the Youth Olympic Games.
