In Odesa Region, a feast ended in stabbing - reasons.

A resident of Odesa Region quarreled with his fellow villager, lost control, and stabbed him in the abdomen. The victim was hospitalized, and the attacker faces up to 8 years in prison.

Details of the case

The law enforcement officials established that a 58-year-old resident of the Odesa district was drinking alcoholic beverages with a 49-year-old fellow villager in a gazebo near his home. During the feast, a quarrel arose between the friends over old grievances, which escalated into a fight. In the heat of the conflict, the older man grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the younger one in the abdomen. The doctors hospitalized the victim with a penetrating stab wound to the abdominal cavity. The police detained the attacker at the scene.

The suspect has been informed about the suspicion under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional bodily harm, dangerous to life at the moment of infliction). He faces up to 8 years in prison.
