The PACE session will host debates on Russia's responsibility for the crime of aggression.


On April 7, urgent debates on Russia's accountability for crimes of aggression will take place at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This was announced by the head of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to PACE, Maria Mezentseva.
It is noted that the proposal to hold such debates will be considered at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 7. At the next meeting, it will be decided whether the debates will be held and an appropriate resolution adopted.
The Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada has also requested to hold debates on the issue of Russia's accountability for crimes of aggression against Ukraine. In addition, discussions on the situation in Georgia, the challenge to the powers of the Georgian delegation, the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul, and the humanitarian blockade of Gaza are planned.
It is also important to coordinate plans for the creation of a Special Tribunal that will deal with crimes of aggression. We remind you that the International Criminal Court has already issued warrants for the arrest of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the Minister of Defense, Maria Lvova-Belova.
In addition, a resolution on the inevitability of Russia's responsibility for crimes will be considered, as well as an international Register of Damages that will allow Ukrainians to receive compensation through the special application 'Diia'.
During the PACE session, paintings of Ukrainian cities destroyed by the Russian army will also be presented, as well as a discussion on the issue of returning children.
