Prisoner exchange, new protection of military rights, and relations with Syria: main statements by Zelensky.

Ukraine has freed 189 people from Russian captivity, including defenders of Mariupol and 'Azovstal', border guards, and two civilians. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for their assistance in the release of Ukrainian prisoners. He noted that among those freed are servicemen of the Armed Forces, National Guardsmen, and border guards.
Zelensky also signed a decree appointing a commissioner who will defend the rights of servicemen and their families. Olga Reshetilova has been chosen for this position, and she will work on a draft law regarding a military ombudsman. Additionally, a decision has been made to simplify the procedure for granting officer ranks to soldiers and sergeants with combat experience.
Zelensky also announced a visit by a Ukrainian delegation to Damascus and the possibility of restoring diplomatic relations with Syria. He emphasized that Ukraine is ready to help restore stability in this country after prolonged Russian interference. Furthermore, the United States has provided a new support package to Ukraine worth several billion dollars, aimed at strengthening the front in the near future.
