A prominent Dynamo football player has passed away.


At the age of 66, former Dynamo football player and coach of the children's and youth school of Dynamo, Serhiy Zhuravlyov, has died, reports Glavkom.
Serhiy Zhuravlyov was an important player in Valeriy Lobanovskyi's championship team in the early 1980s. He was one of the most talented defenders of his generation. With his contribution, the team won two championships and the USSR Cup. He is particularly remembered by fans as part of the youth national team that became the European champion in 1980.
Serhiy Mykolaiovych left a significant mark as a coach, nurturing talented football players at the children's and youth school of Dynamo. Many of his pupils became the best players in Ukrainian football and still play for domestic and foreign clubs.
On behalf of all Dynamo fans, I express my deepest condolences to the family of Serhiy Mykolaiovych, all his relatives and loved ones. May the earth be soft upon him, and may the memory of him remain in the hearts of those who knew, valued, and loved him. A good memory of Serhiy Zhuravlyov will forever stay with us.
We remind you that during the war with Russian occupiers, volleyball player Andriy Romanov from Kropyvnytskyi was killed at the age of 33. Initially, he engaged in volunteer work, and later became a combat medic.
The Kropyvnytskyi club stated that Andriy was a friend, comrade, and a relative person. He was always positive.
Andriy Romanov is survived by his wife and young son.
