Pope Francis passed away on Monday morning at the age of 88. His death was the result of a stroke and chronic illnesses. Throughout his life, the Pope suffered from pneumonia and experienced four respiratory crises. According to his wishes, he will be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, rather than in Vatican City. His tomb will be simple and unadorned.
