Violation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons: Ukraine presented evidence against Russia at the OPCW.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Ukraine presented evidence of violations of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons by Russia. At a meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, the Ukrainian delegation showed testimonies about the use of prohibited chemical agents by Russia in its war against Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, from 2023 to 2025, more than 6,900 cases of chemical agents' use were recorded. In just the last month, their number stands at 844. Additionally, more than 2,100 military personnel were chemically injured, three of whom died.
'Ukraine provided evidence of Russia supplying gas grenades containing CS, which is used for riot control. These grenades are manufactured at Russian enterprises,' the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
Andriy Kasyanov demands to isolate Russia on the international arena and exclude it from the Executive Council of the OPCW. Ukraine also nominated itself for election to the Executive Council for the next three-month period.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that war crimes do not have a statute of limitations, and the international community must hold Russia accountable for its actions.
