The price of butter in Ukraine has increased by 80% compared to 2023 and will not decrease in the near future, reports analyst of the 'Ukrainian Club of Agricultural Business' (UCAB) Maksym Hopka. Currently, butter costs about 110-115 hryvnias in supermarkets.
'Butter prices have risen for several reasons, including a 40% increase in raw milk prices and power outages, which necessitate using generators and consuming fuel, which is also getting more expensive. The rise in electricity costs and taxes has also affected the price of butter,' explained Hopka.
According to him, prices for products in Ukraine may decrease when there is an abundance of goods in the market. 'Dairy products may slightly decrease in price when warm weather arrives, for example, in spring or summer. During this period, the quantity of milk obtained increases, which lowers the price of raw milk,' noted Hopka.
