Putin will not stop: Zelensky urged Trump to visit Ukraine before making decisions.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his concerns during an interview on CBS News' 60 Minutes about the possible spread of war to global proportions if Vladimir Putin's actions are not halted. The interview was recorded in the president's hometown of Kryvyi Rih, a week after a Russian strike took the lives of 19 people, including 9 children.
On April 13, Russian forces again shelled the center of Sumy City with ballistic missiles. This invasion led to the deaths of 34 individuals, including 2 children, and injured 117 people, of whom 15 were children. This tragedy occurred in broad daylight when many people were on the streets, in cars, and using public transport.
'If we do not stand firm, he will continue military operations. This is not just a threat - it is a real threat. Putin's ultimate goal is to revive the Russian Empire and reclaim territories currently belonging to NATO. I believe this situation could lead to a world war,' emphasized the Ukrainian leader. According to him, in such a scenario, 'there will be no safe place for anyone in the world.'
Zelensky also expressed the opinion that Donald Trump, 'as a strong leader of a powerful country', should be on Ukraine's side. He stressed that the Ukrainian people are paying a high price, losing not only money but also the lives of their people.
Zelensky regrets the spread of Russian narratives in the U.S. He believes that Russian narratives prevail in the U.S., although this contradicts their losses and the suffering of Ukrainians. He thinks it reflects the significant influence of Russia's information policy on America and its politics and politicians.
Zelensky also stated that Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities demonstrate that Russia cannot be trusted. He called for an end to negotiations with Russia.
The president also expressed his vision for ending the war at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Brussels on April 11. In his opinion, the war can only be ended through negotiations with Russia and the provision of stable and sufficient defense assistance for Ukraine.
Zelensky urged Donald Trump to visit Ukraine before making any decisions regarding the end of the war. He asks the president to meet with civilians, soldiers, and doctors and personally assess the situation on the ground before making decisions about the war.
Zelensky is seriously concerned about the further escalation of the war if Putin's actions are not stopped. He emphasizes that Putin's goal is to revive the Russian Empire and reclaim the territories controlled by NATO, which threatens global proportions and could lead to a world war.
Zelensky also stresses that Ukraine is paying a high price in this war, losing not only money but also human lives. He calls on Donald Trump to support Ukraine and stand by its side.
This interview makes it clear that the situation is critical and could have global repercussions. Ukraine calls on the international community and influential leaders to support it in its fight against Russia and to stop the aggression. America, in particular, is a key player in this process and must make decisions regarding support for Ukraine.
