According to the head coach of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team Irina Viner, doctors mistakenly removed a healthy meniscus horn from Russian gymnast Lali Kramarenko. The coach expressed her outrage at such actions and suggested stripping the doctors of their diplomas. Lali Kramarenko is the champion of Russia and Europe in rhythmic gymnastics, and in July 2024 she underwent surgery on her leg.
