Intelligence explained why Russia was afraid to conduct military exercises in the Black Sea.

From September 10 to 16, 2024, the Russian Federation conducted large strategic exercises called "Ocean-24." This happened after a two-year break. This was reported by the intelligence of the UK Ministry of Defense.
According to intelligence data, "Ocean-24" could have been an attempt to demonstrate Russia's capabilities and potential despite the war. According to preliminary reports from Russian media, more than 400 ships, 120 aircraft, 7,000 vehicles, and 90,000 people participated in the exercises. They were held in the Barents, Baltic, Mediterranean, and Caspian Seas, as well as the Pacific and Arctic Oceans.
However, intelligence believes that Russia exaggerated these figures.
"There was no 'Ocean-2024' activity in the Black Sea, likely due to attacks from Ukraine in the first six months of 2024," the intelligence report noted.
Earlier, British intelligence reported on a new strategy of Russia in the Black Sea. After the loss of the Tu-22M3 in April this year, Russian troops became more cautious in their strike operations in the Black Sea.
There is also a threat of the use of Kalibr missiles against the surrounding regions of Ukraine. Russia has deployed two missile carriers in the Black Sea, with which it can strike.
