You cannot get behind the wheel: drivers in Ukraine warned about age restrictions.

According to information from the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukrainians have been informed about who and from what age can get behind the wheel of a vehicle. In particular, Ukrainian legislation does not set a maximum age limit for obtaining a driver's license.
In Ukraine, people can obtain a driver's license from 16 years old, but only for driving mopeds and motorcycles. For driving larger vehicles, other age restrictions apply.
Thus, the age requirements are distributed as follows:
- From 16 years old – for driving mopeds and motorcycles
- From 18 years old – for driving passenger cars and small trucks
- From 19 years old – for driving vehicles with trailers and trucks with trailers
- From 21 years old – for driving buses, trolleybuses, and trams
One can obtain a driver's license after studying the traffic rules, passing theoretical and practical exams, as well as completing practical driving training. For this, it is necessary to register at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and provide the required documents.
The cost of exams at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is 250 hryvnias for the theoretical exam and 420 hryvnias for the practical exam.
Receiving services at territorial units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs requires prior registration through the E-Registration system or a self-service terminal.
