Shells and bombs AASM: what weapon will Ukraine receive from France.

France will allocate an additional 195 million euros in military aid to Ukraine, announced French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu. The money will come from the interest earned on frozen Russian assets.
According to the minister, these funds will be used for the production of 155mm shells and AASM glide bombs for Mirage 2000 aircraft, which were previously supplied to Ukraine. In addition, deliveries of AMX-10RC tanks and VAB armored vehicles will be increased.
“The lack of American aid is a heavy blow for Ukraine, but we understand the importance of maintaining ties between France and the USA,” Lecornu emphasized, promising to visit the Pentagon soon.
Meanwhile, France is also increasing its defense capabilities. The plan is to ramp up the production of Rafale fighters to 4-5 aircraft per month starting in 2026, compared to the two produced in 2024. Additionally, there will be an increase in the production of AASM glide bombs and Akeron MP anti-tank missiles.
The minister concluded: “We are not in a state of war. We strive to ensure peace, and the best way to achieve this is to have a ready defense capability that is sovereign and autonomous.”
