46 military personnel did not return from leave abroad
According to the Main Directorate of the Military Service and the Deputy General Staff, from February 24, 2022, to September 30, 2024, 46 military personnel went abroad for vacation and did not return to Ukraine. This information was reported by the publication "Slidstvo.Info", referring to the response from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to a request.
The Main Directorate of the Military Service noted that military personnel have the right to cross the border on general terms, and their passage is organized by authorized personnel. Military personnel are not restricted in terms of the duration of their leave, and for traveling abroad, permission from the commander of the military unit is required.
"These military personnel are accounted for as those who voluntarily left the military units," - reported the Ministry of Defense.
There is currently no information on possible violations of legislation by military personnel when crossing the state border.
According to border guards, attempts to illegally cross the border by men subject to military service are registered daily at various sections.
Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, 515 criminal organized groups that illegally helped to cross the border have been uncovered. According to law enforcement officials, about 1,500 criminals operated in such groups, most of whom reside abroad.
