Ukraine repelled the largest air attack of the entire war: 201 targets destroyed.


Ukraine was attacked by Russian occupiers
On the night of August 26-27, 2024, Ukraine became the victim of a large-scale air attack by Russian occupiers. This information was confirmed by the Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, noting that the enemy struck critical infrastructure, including the fuel and energy sector.
The radio engineering troops of the Air Force detected and tracked 236 air attack assets, including 127 missiles and 109 strike drones. The attack involved the use of various types of missiles from the air, land, and sea.
The enemy weapons used included aeroballistic missiles "Kinzhal", ballistic missiles "Iskander-M", cruise missiles Kh-101, "Kalibr", Kh-22, guided aviation missiles Kh-59/Kh-69, and strike UAVs "Shahed-131/136". Launches were carried out from the territory of Russia, occupied Crimea, and the Black Sea waters.
Ukrainian defense forces used all available means to repel the attack, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units. During the battle, 201 air targets were destroyed: 102 missiles and 99 strike UAVs.
Lieutenant General Oleshchuk also reported that several drones were lost over Ukrainian territory, and two crossed the state border with Belarus.
