Ukraine downed its F-16 due to the USA in summer, - WSJ.

According to WSJ, in the summer of 2024 Ukraine tested its F-16 with the Patriot rocket system. The cause of the accident was the shooting down by the Patriot missile systems. Despite Ukraine not officially disclosing this information, the accident occurred due to the Link 16 tactical network that transmits information about the location of planes to pilots and ground forces to avoid missile and drone strikes.

When F-16s arrived in Ukraine, the USA did not inform the Ukrainian government about the availability of this technology. They believed Ukraine would not be able to obtain these planes so quickly. Therefore, it was decided to remove Link 16 from the Patriot missile systems.

Saudi Arabia agrees to host a meeting between Trump and Putin on its territory

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia announced its support for holding a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on its territory. They highly appreciated the phone conversation between Trump and Putin on February 12 and announced the possibility of holding a summit in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, Trump noted that the meeting with Putin could take place in Saudi Arabia or the USA, and he also plans to visit Russia.
