Ukrainians named the electricity tariff from March 1: how much to pay for a kilowatt.

From March 1, 2025, Ukrainians will pay for electricity at a rate of 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour. This rate will be in effect until the end of the heating season - until April 30, 2025. After this date, there are two possible options: the price of electricity may change or the current rate will be extended for another year. It should be noted that among all communal services, electricity has shown the largest price increase during the war period. Traditionally, the review of electricity tariffs took place at the end of May.
For those who want to save on electricity, there is a profitable solution - installing a two-zone meter. With such a meter, during the night Time, from 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM, the rate is only 2.16 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour, which is half of the standard rate.
What is needed to install a two-zone meter?
- Purchase a multi-zone meter
- Submit an application to your electricity supplier
- Switch to a new tariff plan
This is especially beneficial for those who can shift part of their energy consumption to nighttime - for example, turning on the washing machine, dishwasher, or other energy-intensive appliances at night. Accordingly, it is advisable to minimize electricity use during the periods from 08:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 08:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
In particular, for a three-zone meter, the following three rates are set:
- from 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM - 1.728 hryvnias;
- from 07:00-08:00/11:00-08:00 PM/10:00-11:00 PM (semi-peak) - 4.34 hryvnias;
- from 08:00-11:00 AM/08:00-10:00 PM (peak) - 6.48 hryvnias.
In 2024, the cost of electricity for enterprises also increased. This was driven by two main factors: the need to restore the energy infrastructure, which suffered damage due to Russian attacks, as well as the desire to align the electricity market with European standards to improve international cooperation.
Maximum electricity price for enterprises:
- from 00:00 to 07:00 - 5.6 thousand hryvnias per MWh;
- from 07:00 to 17:00 - 6.9 thousand hryvnias per MWh;
- from 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM - 6.9 thousand hryvnias per MWh;
- from 05:00 PM to 11:00 PM - 9 thousand hryvnias per MWh.
The minimum maximum price is 10 thousand hryvnias per MWh.
