Ukrainians abroad have changed the rules for passport renewal: 2 options.

Ukrainians in Poland can renew their lost passport according to the algorithm
Loss of a passport abroad can be a serious ordeal for Ukrainians, but there is a clear algorithm of actions to resolve this issue. First, one should contact the nearest police station to obtain an official certificate of loss or theft of the document. This is reported by the portal Ukrainians in Poland.
The next important step is a visit to the Ukrainian consulate in Poland. Ukrainian consulates are located in five cities:
- Warsaw al. Szucha 7, 00-580 Warsaw;
- Wrocław pl. Biskupa Nankiera 7, 50-140 Wrocław;
- Kraków ul. Beliny-Prażmowskiego 4, 31-514 Kraków;
- Gdańsk ul. Chrzanowskiego 60, 80-278 Gdańsk;
- Lublin ul. Spokojna 2, 20-074 Lublin.
To renew their documents, Ukrainian citizens have two options.
The first is to issue a new passport, which requires submission of the necessary documents and payment of a consular fee. It is important to note that the processing Time may take up to 90 days. The second option is to obtain a temporary identity certificate, which allows for return to Ukraine and is valid for 30 days.
It is also recommended to visit the local Lost and Found Bureau (Biuro Rzeczy Znalezionych), as there is a possibility that the lost passport may be found and handed over there by conscientious citizens.
To prevent similar situations in the future, specialists advise taking precautions regarding document security.
'It is important to make copies of all important documents and keep them separate from the originals,' emphasizes the consulate. It is also necessary to keep documents in a safe place and avoid handing them over to third parties.
