Ukrainians mass-transferred mobile numbers: where Vodafone, lifecell and Kyivstar subscribers moved.


Ukrainians have transferred mobile numbers in record numbers. Data has emerged about which operator most often sees customers switch.
The National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR) reported a record use of the mobile number portability (MNP) service in January 2025. A total of 145 thousand numbers were transferred between operators while keeping the same number. This figure is the highest in the history of MNP.
According to the NCCIR information, the popularity of the service continues to grow. Only in January 2025, the number of transferred numbers was almost half of the total number of transferred numbers for the entire year of 2024.
Specifically, in January 2025, out of a total of 145 thousand transferred numbers, 108.65 thousand subscribers switched from 'Kyivstar' to other operators, while 6.3 thousand numbers were transferred to 'Kyivstar'.
'Vodafone Ukraine' lost 31.99 thousand subscribers and attracted 17.28 thousand.
lifecell lost 4.55 thousand subscribers and attracted 121.68 thousand.
In February 2025, the number of transferred numbers almost halved, amounting to 68.54 thousand.
Distribution by operators:
- 'Kyivstar' lost 26.09 thousand and attracted 20.67 thousand (net outflow of 5.42 thousand).
- 'Vodafone Ukraine' lost 25.26 thousand and attracted 12.454 thousand (net outflow of 12.806 thousand).
- lifecell lost 17.03 thousand and attracted 35.39 thousand (net gain of 18.36 thousand).
