From April 24 to 27, the final matches of the Ukrainian Futsal Cup took place at the Sports Palace in the capital. According to 'Glavkom', on April 27, in an exciting match, the team 'Uragan' from Ivano-Frankivsk defeated the team 'Sukha Balka' from Zhovti Vody with a score of 6:4. This is already the fourth Time in history and the second consecutive time that 'Uragan' has become the champion of the Ukrainian Futsal Cup. It is also worth mentioning that Ukraine has reached the final stage of the Futsal Euro, winning all six matches in their group. It has become one of the 12 teams that are guaranteed the right to participate in the tournament. However, due to the participation of the Belarusian national team, which has also reached the final stage, the Ukrainian national team may be excluded from the tournament. In June 2023, the Ministry of Youth and Sports amended an order prohibiting Ukrainian teams from competing in tournaments involving athletes from Russia and Belarus. Ukrainian athletes can compete against Russians and Belarusians, but only if they compete under a neutral flag. UEFA has completely banned the participation of Russian national teams and clubs in its tournaments, but Belarusian teams are still participating in football competitions. Belarus has the right to compete in tournaments under its own flag. As a result of the order from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ukraine did not participate in the European Beach Football League in 2023 and also did not participate in the World Beach Football Championship, where Belarus was present. Regarding the prospects of the Ukrainian national team, the 2026 European Championship in Futsal will be held in Latvia and Lithuania. Latvia has banned its sports teams from competing against Russian and Belarusian teams due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Andriy Shevchenko has stated that Ukraine is currently consulting with Latvia and Lithuania regarding this situation, but no date for a final decision has been announced.
