A Loan Agreement was signed in London between Ukraine and the United Kingdom for the amount of 2.6 billion pounds sterling ($3.2 billion), which is intended to support Ukraine's defense capability. This information is reported by Suspilne. The agreement provides for the acceleration of funds to strengthen the country's defense potential. The signing of this document took place between the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves and the Ukrainian Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko.
It is emphasized that present at the signing ceremony were the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who met in London on March 1. According to Sky News, Keir Starmer confirmed the support from the United Kingdom for Ukraine and its president. He stated: 'You have full support in the United Kingdom, and we will support you and Ukraine for as long as it takes.' In addition, the British Prime Minister stressed his 'absolute' and 'unyielding' resolve to achieve a common goal - 'a lasting peace for Ukraine based on sovereignty and security.'
President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Keir Starmer and the people of the United Kingdom for the support they have provided since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
