Drivers were reminded which letters cannot be used in license plates.

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that drivers must adhere to a ban on the use of certain letters in license plates. Vehicle registration numbers carry not only technical information but also indicate the characteristics of different countries. Each country has its own requirements for the format of plates, including the placement of digits and allowed letters.
In April 2023, the government of Ukraine established new rules regarding license plates. According to these rules, the letters Z and V are prohibited in individual numbers. The ban applies to the letters themselves as well as their use in Cyrillic words as replacements for the letters З, С, В, or Ф. This decision was made to prevent the appearance of symbols associated with Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
France also has strict rules for license plates. There, four letters and three digits are separated by hyphens. For safety and clear identification of vehicles, the letters I, O, and U are prohibited as they can be confused with digits. The letter I looks similar to the digit 1, O to 0, and U to V.
Additionally, it should be noted that in France, the combination of letters SS is prohibited on license plates due to its association with the Nazi organization Schutzstaffel.
At the same Time, drivers were also explained whether they can drive in Ukraine with European driving licenses.
