Every day at 9 o'clock, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Vasyl Kyrychuk.

On June 9, Vasyl made his last phone call home and promised to call in the evening, but after that, his mother and sister were informed of his death. This was reported by

Life and Service

Vasyl was born on February 16, 1979, in the village of Yapolot and spent his entire life there. He studied at the local school, worked, lived among those who knew him as a kind, calm, and sincere person. Vasyl Kyrychuk was drafted into service on December 10, 2024. As his sister recounts, he first underwent training, and then he was sent to hot spots - first to Kharkiv, then to Sumy.

"He was very calm. He always helped people, never refused anyone. He was a good person. He enjoyed fishing. He wanted to achieve a lot in life, but most of all - to return from the war. In hot spots, he would be on positions for two weeks, followed by a week of rest. But the last times, as he described, were real hell. During his free week, he always called his mother and reassured her: 'I am fine, don’t worry,'" recalls the sister of the fallen, Oksana.

On June 9, Vasyl called for the last Time. He said they had been taken away from the positions for a week. He promised to call in the evening. But instead of that call, the defender's mother and sister were informed of Vasyl Kyrychuk's death.

The farewell to the defender took place on June 18. The warrior was buried in the local cemetery in Yapolot.
