US lawmakers demand intelligence assessment of risks of halting aid to Ukraine.

American lawmakers are proposing to consider the implications for US security if Ukraine does not receive assistance and Russia wins the war on Ukrainian territory. A report on this could be classified.
This was reported by The Hill, citing American lawmakers.
US lawmakers want to add this provision to the National Defense Authorization Act before the House of Representatives votes.
American lawmakers are demanding that the Director of National Intelligence, the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency prepare a report assessing the course of Russia's war against Ukraine and its implications for the US in various scenarios.
This document is titled 'Assessment of Possible Developments in the War in Ukraine'.
According to the newspaper, the report will include an analysis of the capability of Ukrainian forces to defend against Russian aggression in case of continued or halted US military and economic assistance, as well as regarding the maintenance or withdrawal of the authorization to use long-range missiles for strikes on Russia.
Lawmakers also want to assess the impact of a possible defeat of Ukraine in the war on US national interests, particularly further aggression from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.
“The report should be presented in an open form but may contain a classified annex and be sent to the intelligence committees in the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as to the Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Appropriations committees,” The Hill publication states.
Lawmakers are demanding that the report be submitted within 90 days of signing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
