Zelensky awarded 301 military personnel with state awards
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees honoring 301 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with state awards, reports 'Glavkom'. Among the recipients are five Heroes of Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that this is a gesture of gratitude and honor from the Ukrainian state to the defenders of Ukraine and its independence.
The President noted that for 11 years Russia has been trying to destroy Ukrainian statehood, but despite this, Ukraine remains strong and ready to fight for its freedom and security. Through the efforts of the Ukrainians, the state is trying to ensure reliable security and decent peace. Zelensky expressed gratitude to the soldiers who continue to fight for Ukraine's independence.
Ukraine also celebrates Volunteer Day on March 14 to honor the courage and heroism of those who defended the independence and territorial integrity of the country. On the same day, the Ukrainian volunteer movement began when in 2014 the first 500 volunteers of the Self-Defense of Maidan arrived at the Novyi Petrivtsi training ground, forming the first volunteer battalion.
