Former serviceman of the 'Azov' regiment Stanislav Yermakov is accused of setting fire to the Stepan Bandera museum in the village of Staryi Uhryniv in Ivano-Frankivsk region in December 2021. He served in the 'Azov' regiment for 7 years but was later recruited by Russian special services and carried out sabotage in the Ukrainian rear. This is reported by 'Glavkom' referring to materials from 'Radio Svoboda'.

Currently, Yermakov, together with Mykola Topalo, is suspected of state treason and other crimes. They were recruited by a Kyiv woman, Yevheniya Bilchenko, a former teacher who moved to Russia and supports aggression against Ukraine.

According to the material, Yermakov and Topalo participated in a series of sabotage activities in Odesa in 2024. For the first sabotage, they received $5000. The investigation noted that it was difficult to track them as they did not use phones and communication via mobile internet.

Sabotage in Odesa

According to the material, Yermakov participated in sabotage actions in Odesa in 2024.

'There was a curator, a person from the Russian special services. He contacted us through our communication channel and said that many fires had started in Russia, a lot was burning, and we needed to respond,' Yermakov noted.

Yermakov talked about the preparation and execution of sabotage acts. They prepared materials for incendiary mixtures, planned the approach and escape routes, and avoided using transport, working on foot. They carried out 8 sabotage acts on the territory of Odesa and the Odesa region.

First sabotage under Bilchenko's supervision

Yermakov confessed that after the Russian aggression, he contacted Yevheniya Bilchenko, who asked him to help her with espionage. He was supposed to look at military facilities in Kyiv and report on them. Yermakov accepted this task and noted all information on a map.

Latter, Bilchenko tasked Yermakov to set fire to the Bandera museum, but due to its location and lighting of the building, this sabotage was impossible.

Bilchenko is acquainted with the Russian curator. She performed his assignments regarding the immersion of radio station lines and setting fire to the Bandera museum.

Yermakov's story

Yermakov served in the 'Azov' regiment since 2014 and participated in the war against Russia. However, he was later recruited by Russian special services and carried out sabotage in Ukraine. He does not associate himself with Ukraine and remains on the side of Russia. He acknowledges his guilt for his actions.

The investigation against Yermakov and Topalo is ongoing, but they face long-term imprisonment.

Recently, other accomplices have also been detained.
