Weather Forecast for the Upcoming Weekend

Abnormally cold weather with rain is expected across Ukraine over the upcoming weekend. This was reported by meteorologist Igor Kibalchich in his forecast.

According to his forecast, a cold polar air mass continues to dominate over Eastern Europe, resulting in a decrease in air temperatures in most regions of Ukraine. The meteorologist particularly highlights the risk of ground frosts during the night.

Saturday's Forecast

On Saturday, May 10, there will be no significant precipitation overnight in the western regions of Ukraine, but during the day meteorologists predict rain. The air temperature at night will range from +1 to +6 degrees, with possible frosts dropping to -3 degrees on the ground in some places. During the day, the temperature will rise to +7...+12 degrees, and in Transcarpathia – up to +16 degrees.

The northern regions of the country are expected to see similar weather, with light to moderate rains during the day and possible thunderstorms. Night temperatures will range from +1 to +6 degrees, while daytime temperatures will rise to +9...+14 degrees.

Sunday's Forecast

Sunday's weather on May 11 will bring some changes. Overnight, rain is expected in the western regions, and in the Carpathians, there will be heavy precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain. Daytime air temperatures will range from +9 to +14 degrees, with Transcarpathia reaching +17 degrees.

Rainy weather is also expected in the central part of the country, while in southern Ukraine and Crimea, there will be rain during the day, with local heavy showers and thunderstorms, especially in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. The highest air temperatures in the south will range from +14 to +19 degrees.

The meteorologist also noted that spring 2025 is expected to be not only warm but also dry, especially in the northern regions of Ukraine, where the season may see almost a third less precipitation than the climatic norm.
