Boat parade on the Seine: the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics continues in Paris.


In the evening of July 26, a unique opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics took place in Paris. For the first Time in Olympic history, the parade of nations took place not in a stadium but on the River Seine. Thousands of athletes from all over the world sailed on boats through the heart of Paris, creating an unforgettable spectacle.
The parade of nations was led by the Greek delegation, as traditionally, and the largest boat was assigned to the American team – the most numerous at these Games. A large-scale show involving world-renowned singers, dancers, acrobats, and musicians simultaneously took place on the banks of the Seine. Lady Gaga performed at the opening ceremony.
French security forces ensured maximum protection during the opening ceremony, despite previous incidents with train arson. About 300,000 spectators attended the event, and hundreds of thousands more watched from their homes.
This Olympics has already gone down in history as one of the most spectacular sporting events. Its opening was special in format, combining sports and arts, as well as large-scale celebrations. This indicates that the Olympic Games continue to develop and surprise the world.

Earlier, information emerged that Ukrainian athletes were warned about interactions with neutral athletes from Russia and Belarus. For their safety, they are not told all the details and specifics of the opening ceremony.
Ukraine is represented in almost all sports at the Olympics, except for team sports. The football team is also participating in the Games for the first time since the country's independence.
