Vitkoff announced progress on Ukraine: Washington and Moscow 'have reached mutual understanding' on key issues.


U.S. Deputy President Donald Trump's Steve Vitkoff reported successful negotiations with Russia regarding a possible end to the war in Ukraine. After meeting with the President of Russia, Vitkoff stated that Washington and Moscow have reached an agreement.
In an interview with Fox News, Vitkoff described his negotiations as 'convincing' and revealed some details of the discussions.
This was a substantive meeting. And by the end of it, we finally reached an agreement. Putin's request is to achieve a permanent peace. So this is no longer just a ceasefire.
Vitkoff identified the key element of the agreement as the issue of 'five territories', which likely include Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
This peace agreement concerns the so-called five territories, but it also has many other aspects. It is about security protocols, NATO, Article Five of NATO. There are many details.
Vitkoff expressed optimism about the future peace process, noting that a significant moment for the whole world may be approaching.
Earlier, Vitkoff faced harsh criticism in the U.S. because of his negotiations regarding Ukraine.
